How to merge contacts on the iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Contacts
  2. Tap the contact you would like to merge other contacts with
  3. Tap Edit
  4. Tap Link Contacts
  5. Tap on the duplicate contact(s)
  6. Tap Done

Important: Merging contacts does not overwrite any information from either contact but instead merges them into a single card. If you have any outdated information, such as old addresses, phone numbers, or emails for a contact, you should make sure to update or remove the information manually.

Obviously the above is going to take you an age with 85 contacts so I suggest you try

Merge iCloud Contacts on iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Your Name at the top of the page.
  3. Select iCloud
  4. Toggle Contacts to the On position.
  5. When asked if you want to Merge or Cancel, select Merge

Hope that helps...
