removing the Music app from my Macbook pro

I am running Big Sur on my Macbook pro and I don't like the Music app because it won't play some songs or albums. It won't let me add them to my library and they are all legitimate CD's I bought and burned to my hard drive. Nothing bootlegged or downloaded. This stinks and I would like it off of my Macbook without hurting any other system files.

Any ideas?

Or should I just leave it there taking up space and download VLC which works!

Thank you

ed2345,

I have plenty of space so I guess I'll download the VLC. I hope I like it and it plays the songs and albums that the MUSIC app won't accept.

Still can't figure out why I can't add certain CD's to the MUSIC folder or import them.

I usually just put the CD in my CD player and it automatically adds them. Unless it is some copywrite issue but I doubt it.

The are CD's that were made by the Electric Light Orchestra back in '75. They are store bought so I don't understand.

Thanks for the reply

Just found out how to get the songs to get added to the MUSIC app library.

I had to drag and drop them into my "automatically add songs to the iTunes library folder"

I had no clue the iTunes media was still on this Mac?

Well, issue solved but I still don't know why I can't add them directly to the MUSIC folder.

Thanks for eveybody's help!
