Outdoor walk distance setting

My Apple Watch 7 has recently started displaying in blue .28 mile as the default distance for an outdoor walk. How can I change or eliminate that? It's too short a distance to be meaningful -- and I wonder how it was set in the first place without my having done anything.

Apple Watch 7 changing exercise from outdoor walk to indoor cycle on it’s own Frustratingly the Activity setting is changing from outdoor walk to indoor cycle without any interaction on my part. It does not happen at any set time, just randomly switches. I have tried changing the display, thinking I may inadvertently be touching the screen, but the issue continues My wife’s Apple Watch, on the same network, for the same walk does not have any issue, so it cannot be a drop in signal. Any help very much appreciated

Apple Watch no longer records distance on my outdoor cycles. My watch used to record distance on my outdoor cycles, but doesn't currently. Do I have a setting wrong? [Re-Titled by Moderator]
