iPhone X, iOS 15
Under Settings - General - Keyboard - Text Replacement - "+" - Phrase [insert] 20 - Shortcut [insert] 20
Creating a text replacement so that when I type in 20 it triggers shortcut to "20" resolved the autocorrect from 20 to 2.0.
This solution is not a long term solution (it'll stop working).
As it was mentioned several times in this discussion already - this requires a fix from Apple; it was already confirmed that it has been fixed in next iOS 15 update, we just have to wait.
Classic moment:
Glad I caught that one!
P.S. This has been annoying me for months, and I had assumed it was me, the product of time spent online related to my VW 2.0L engine… but discovered today that 20 —> 2.0 happens to my wife also. We both have the TC 2.0 app and can’t delete it.
P.P.S Woo-hoo:
I’m having this same issue. It’s also not consistently replacing “im” with “I’m” and other similar contractions. I don’t think the 2.0 is a learned thing. I’ve never intentionally typed that (that I know of) until now.
It would be nice if there was an actual working fix for this issue
I’ve tried everything but my phone is determined to correct 50 to “5-0” every time. I have never typed this phrase or corrected my phone to do so.
It started when I began using my 13 Pro Max.
I have the same issue. Maddening. The only option is to completely disable autocorrect, but that’s not really an option. Keyboard shortcuts don’t seem to fix the issue. The phone seems determined to erase certain numbers from use. Perhaps I’ll start telling people “I’ll be there in 19+1 minutes!” Started with iOS15.
Holy **** THANK YOU. This finally resolved it for me. I had an app named "Ruler 2.0". Deleting it *and restarting the phone* fixed the issue. Now I can say 20 all I want. 25 and 50 were never issues for me. I'd be curious for people with those issues to reply with the app names though.
Apple, get it together. I shouldn't have to delete an app to fix an obvious bug. If the preceding word isn't 'Ruler', you shouldn't be autocorrecting the '20'. App names should be considered as a whole. Or better yet, don't treat numbers as autocorrectable (leaving aside text replacement shortcuts obviously).
Totally agree that the “fix” is not an actual fix, but a sledgehammer for a finishing nail. Apple needs to properly fix the autocorrect logic so idiotic app names aren’t used as an authoritative dictionary. It’s pure insanity.
You helped me so much! I had tried too many solutions. After reading your post, looked for some app like yours and found Walkers connect 1.0. After deleting and resetting the iPhone everything was fine again. I don’t know how, cause I have this app for many years and the problem occurred after the installed the last versions of IOS.
Thanks a lot!
Wow thank you! I’ve been going nuts since iOS 15 with my phone autocorrecting “10” to “1.0”. Every once in a while it would annoy me enough that I would repeatedly type it and tap the “10” in the text bar trying to fix it and it never worked. I would NEVER have thought to search for an app as a culprit. OpenReel 1.0, you’re outta here!
This is silly. I have an app called 5-0 Radio (Monitors 911). I can't type 50! It autocorrects to 5-0. I don't want to delete my app, I use it! Do you mean to tell me I must type fifty instead of 50?
I have an application on my phone called "Alibi Witness 3.0" which is the application that I need to view the security cameras around my house, so there is no way I can delete this application to fix this very annoying bug. Please please please somebody at Apple, read this and address this annoyance.
I just updated to 15.3.1, so I don’t know if they fixed it in the OS, or if your 20 space trick was the solution, but I’m going to give you the credit, @anna-marie272! This has been plaguing me, and since I also need TC 2.0, I couldn’t just delete the app.
THANK YOU!!!
This does not work. And I cannot simply "uninstall" apps named "2.0" or "5-0" as I need them as part of my work. For Apple to use App Names as part of a user's dictionary is about as smart as calling their CEO Tim Apple. Unbelievable.
This is ridiculous, absolutely ludicrous! It’s been over six months now that we can’t type “20” on a $2,000 mobile device. I have an App with a 2.0 in the name that I need, deleting is not an option.
it is annoying that Apple is not fixing this bug, plain stupid and shows the incompetence of certain teams there

I am having the same issue with 20 correcting to 2.0. This only started when I switched from iPhone 12 to iPhone 13.
