iPhone X, iOS 15
Under Settings - General - Keyboard - Text Replacement - "+" - Phrase [insert] 20 - Shortcut [insert] 20
Creating a text replacement so that when I type in 20 it triggers shortcut to "20" resolved the autocorrect from 20 to 2.0.
Update to iOS 15.4. It fixed the issue with my devices.
saw a weird couple of entries for 20->2.0 after i previously added 2.0->20 to try to work around, after deleting those the issue appears to be fixed now
Super easy and please I figured it out myself! :)
Go to Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Text Replacement
add a new entry to replace the shortcut 20 with the phrase 20. In other words replace 20 with the same thing. It’s like an override. Hope it works for others. Mine was changing 50 to 5-0 because of a police scanner app I used to use.
I believe a Reddit post has the answer! The autocorrect is trying to match app names in the autocorrect. So if you have an app installed with 5-0 or 2.0, the phone is using those app names as a dictionary.
The “fix” was to delete those apps AND restart the phone after deleting the apps. This has been an extremely frustrating problem.
I created a shortcut on my Text Replacement. 2.0 = 20. So now when I type 20, it get translated to 2.0 behind the scenes and then my Text Replacement changes it back to 20. The downside is that when you do type 2.0, it replaces it to 20. But I type 2.0 far less often then I type 20.
Guess what!? I had the same problem, found this post, then my husband figured out a work around without deleting the app, it's not perfect but it works- (Apple PLEASE FIX) Go to your shortcuts and Text Replacement put 02 in shortcut and 2.0 in phrase. Again, it's not perfect cuz now you have to remember to put 02 instead of 20..... but... Alternatively you can turn off Predictive...
1byone wellness 2.0 and also 5-0 radio are both apps for me. Glad I know what is causing it but don’t want to delete my apps. 😑
Issue is fixed in Fifteen Dot Four
I can’t believe it, but that is absolutely why 25 is autocorrecting to 2.5 for me—I have an app that has 2.5 in the title. Unfortunately, I need to keep the app installed for work, so I can’t delete it. This is a ridiculous bug and Apple needs to fix this ASAP. Numbers should NEVER autocorrect. And while they’re at it, they should add an obviously needed feature to the autocorrect dictionary: let us edit the autocorrect dictionary on our phone without resetting the entire thing! I want to erase the occasional errors that my phone learns while still retaining the helpful words and phrases it’s learned to correct.
I had the same app - the police scanner so I deleted it and did a hard reset and it worked!! No more stupid 5-0 autocorrect!!!!
Mine was 33 being changed to 3.3. I had an app called “Mobile Connect 3.3” from Dell that caused it. I can’t believe Apple missed this bug.
Apple has fixed it. You’ll just need to update when it is released.
I have the same issue. Tried resetting the keyboard dictionary. Still persists! It's really annoying and only showed up since the iOS 15 update some days ago! I can't ever write the number 20, lol, and have tried to "teach" the keyboard to no avail! Any other ideas to fix this issue?
Unfortunately I actually need the app named TC 2.0, so I’m stuck in this horrific existence where my phone refuses to acknowledge the existence of the number 20.
Apple!! Please read this post! Fix the autocorrect logic! At the very least, put custom dictionary phrases above app name matching!
In regards to the auto correct for “10” to “1.0”, etc. you do not have to fully delete the app, but in the general tab under apps, find the app that is causing the problem such as “walkers 1.0” tap on it and Turn off the “learn from”, “show app in search” and “show content in search” functions. This will work to fix the autocorrect and keep the app.
