Do I need to send in the charging cable and charger when trading in my iPad?

The trade-in process requires the device itself - not the accessories. If trading-in by post, the Trade-in kit that you will receive by post may not be large enough to accommodate additional accessories.
Apple encourage you keep and reuse Power Adapters and cables. If you do send accessories and cables with your trade-in, the additional items will be recycled.
