Apple Watch battery died by noon

Version 6.3, series 2, so not new by any means but still worked fine until yesterday. Battery died by noon. Again today, battery died by noon. Battery usually lasts a full day and a night so this is very unusual. I have done nothing different with the watch.

From experience wiping and setting up the watch again fixes this problem
