I am expecting to be able to select either my library or iTunes. https://support.apple.com/guide/music/search-for-music-mus896f20db7/mac shows the ability to search either my library or Apple Music. The select choices don't show up in my Music app. What do I need to do to be able to search Apple Music (I am a subscriber).

Thanks! That wasn't exactly the solution, but it led in the right direction. I needed to go to preferences -> general and select iTunes Store under Show.

In the music app, click on:
Music > Preferences > Restrictions
and make sure Apple Music is not disabled.
There's also a bug in the Apple Music where it'll stop showing any results from a search (you just get a blank screen). Only solution to that I've seen so far is to restart the app.
Glad you figured it out. I got led astray when you said you were an Apple Music subscriber.
