Hello ~ This is an excellent prior post by one of our excellent Community Specialists * destiny241*

Go through all these steps and see if any help:

*”Due to the error we see here, these are the steps we'd recommend to take:

  1. Check for updates, back up and get up to date, if needed: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  2. If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro
  3. Ensure the ring/silent switch is set to ring, not silent.
  4. Any restrictions set up on this device? Check in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If so, disable these restrictions, restart the iPhone and test out the issue.
  5. Restart the iPhone
  6. Attempt to complete Face ID enrollment continuously for at least a full minute in a well lit environment.

Should you continue to receive this exact error, 'Face ID has been disabled' or 'Face ID is not available' then bring in the iPhone for an inspection: iPhone Repair & Service

To prepare for your visit: Get your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ready for service

Hi All,

I have the same issue on my I phone XS after the upgrade and apple service is suggesting a full replacment with a price of £519 as my phone is out of warranty and they are not taking the responsbility for this being caused by the upgrade and fixing this automatically.

I requested that I want file complaint and I have been given the feedback link to update which I have done.https://www.apple.com/feedback/

Btw I am also being told by Apple support to contact the original seller of I phone ( I bought from another vendor) who should be able to help as per the UK Consumer law and help to sort this out but not yet being able to get through to their right customer service person. So after spending more than 8 hours on this I am yet to see the resolution.
