How do I determine if I have a firmware password

My MacBook Pro needs repairs. I have asked to turn off firmware password. I don't think I have one...how do I determine if I have a firmware password?

Shutdown you Mac, turn it back on holding Option and if it asks for a password before starting loading anything, then you have one. Read this to remove it Set a firmware password on your Mac - Apple Support
