What is Imagent and sociallayerd in iCloud Drive

When I was looking through my iCloud Drive I came across Imagent and sociallayerd

Anyone know what it is?

(under System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud Drive options). What are these? Sign out of iCloud in Monterey 12.6.2 I'd like to sign out of iCloud and back in again to see if this will make the shared photos in Photos actually, er, share. There does not seem to be an option to sign out in /System Preferences, and despite the internet pretending I can click on my name to sign out, on my Monterey 12.6.2 running on a retina iMac, when I click on my name in System Preferences, the geniuses at Apple offer me an emoji, or nothing. Does anybody know how to sign the World's Most Advanced Operating System out of the iCloud webspace to see if this methodology will make it actually work? Ta

Why do i see random pictures and gifs on my 2020 macbook pro? I somehow came across random photos and gifs that I did not download on my Mac. can I delete it or is it part of something I need? BTW there's nothing in. iCloud, I just got my comp and my Apple ID is new too.

Dear harryjjames I had the exact same issue, with imagent, and on my iMac I signed out of my Apple ID by clicking System Preferences-Apple ID-Overview-Sign Out. A few moments later signed in again and it was gone. I'm not an expert by any means but to me it looked like a bug...

IMAgent is a process that listens for FaceTime invitations.
