What error message are you getting?

Have you already tried to perform the backup procedure manually, after reading these support articles?:--> Backup methods for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

and/or:--> How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

and/or:--> If you can't back up to iCloud - Apple Support
