Despite installing fonts on my Mac as detailed in this article I am unable to use any of my own fonts in Design Space.
Im working on at latest Mac with the M1 chip.
Can anyone please assist or advise?

Thanks for the reply and additional information.
The best way to isolate this font issue, is test the new fonts in an Apple app, such as Pages.
Change the font or font size in Pages on Mac
If the font works as expected in the Pages app, then we know the issue is not with the font itself, but with an app not being compatible. You mentioned Cricut released an update. They may not be aware that certain fonts aren't compatible with the newer release. Let them also know where the font was downloaded from, as that may also help.

If the font is not working with the Pages app, let us know which font it is and where it was obtained from.

The next steps is to contact Cricut, to find out which fonts are compatible with their Design Space app, and if additional steps are needed.

The differences between the devices which work with the fonts in Cricut Design Space and don't work with those fonts, is the operating system.
iPad uses iPadOS. To find which version, go to Settings > General > About.
Mac uses macOS, which the version can be found at the Apple Logo > About This Mac > Overview tab.
Also, as you know, your new Mac has the M1 chip, as opposed to an Intel processor. The Rosetta software can help apps be compatible with the M1 chip, if there is an app built for an Intel processor.

You'll want to relay that information to Cricut, along with all of the troubleshooting you've done. They may not be aware of fonts working with one operating system, but not another, or with the Apple M1 chip.

Rosetta 2 is not searchable in the Mac App Store. The article we shared about Rosetta 2 shows that the Mac App Store will provide a pop-up when installing an app which needs it.
If you need to install Rosetta on your Mac
However, the Cricut Design Space app was not from the Mac App Store, so if you were not prompted, as shown in the article, that could be why.
You may need to contact the app developer for help.
Another idea is to install an app from the Mac App Store which is also designed for an Intel processor, which should prompt that Rosetta 2 install.

I have carried out the steps as suggested and there is no issue with any of the System fonts in Pages - that goes for new downloads too.
Looking at the Cricut information again I have come across this -
Note: Because system fonts are not designed by Cricut, some may have design components that are not compatible with Design Space. This may result in a failure to import into Design Space, or unusual behavior when used in Design Space.
What's the difference between my two Macs? As I can access them all easily on the old Mac but not one single System font on the new Mac - I dont suppose that Apple have changed how the fonts work on either Macs. This is most likely a Cricut issue with the new Mac.
Moving away from the Mac's I can access all Systems fonts on my iPad when using Cricut Design Space. Which again brings me back to the new Mac and how to find out exactly what has been changed?

You haven't said anything about your old Mac, so no one can make any comment about it. Maybe it is a relic of the days when fonts were stored in /Library/Fonts and that is where Cricut continues to look for them.

The thing is I can access all of these fonts on my old Mac - I only purchased the new Mac because Cricut released an update which meant I was no longer able to use their offset function because my old Mac OS was deemed to old.
So now I have the latest Mac but am unable to utilise any of my downloaded fonts. I have been in touch with Cricut on several occasions but they have not been able to provide a solution. I cant understand how not one single font is available.
This is very helpful. I will try to install Rosetta on to this M1 Mac, and my old Mac runs on Intel. Looking at the Cricut Application it's an Intel one.
Can I search and download Rosetta freely? Or does this need to come from the App Developer?

High Sierra was the last to have lots of fonts in /Library/Fonts. It had over 185 in that folder. Big Sur has 1. Most fonts in Big Sur are in /System/Library/Fonts
