After data transfer from old iPhone to new, will the data still remain in my old iPhone, or will it be deleted?

I bought a new iPhone and want to transfer data from my iPhone 7+ to my iPhone 12 pro max. I want to do an automatic transfer directly from my old iPhone. After the transfer, will the data still remain in my old iPhone, or will it be deleted?

It will remain in your old phone. To clear the old phone see the instructions in What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
