Sharing Location Services

I was sharing my location with a friend and I had chosen indefinitely as the option for how long to share my location. He was not sharing his location with me. I had forgot that i was sharing my location, and approx 8 days later I received a messaged on our imessage thread stating that "I had stopped sharing my location with him" - however I never turned off sharing in our thread. I did place my phone on Do Not Distrurb and my phone died and I had to reset my phone once. But, someone else I was sharing my location with was still receiving my location. Thoughts?
