Answering phone calls

Why when I tap my green button to answer a phone call on i-phone does the opposite happen and the call is terminated. I always have to call back! This is now an emergency as I have apple support phoning at 9 45 as Safari on my Mac is now now crashing on opening too. I need to work remotely today so all very frustrating. Was trying solutions till early hours this morning for Mac.

Re telephone it never seems to work. I’ve tried both tapping and swiping.

Can any kind and clever person help?
