Where I work the LTE service it terrible and I have to disable it to use 4G. After installing iOS 15 I no longer have the option to do that which makes my iPhone 11 Pro Max unusable. Is there a way to do this I'm not aware of in this version of iOS?? Also whoever decided to change this is a bonehead.

You do know this is BS and it was actually Apple who removed the user control, since this is a worldwide issue after the IOS15 update.
I work for a operator and now to disable VoLTE for customers we have to reconfigure Apple users who don't want VoLTE for their subscriptions.
Simple answer is you can't disable this in your settings on IOS15 or newer anymore. Because Apple removed the possibility from their customers.
Your operator may be able to disable VoLTE if you don't want to use VoLTE, even tho this issue is not caused by them.

Err, Cricket is owned by AT&T and uses the AT&T network. And pretty much every carrier in the world will have dropped 3G by the end of 2022.
AT&T shut down their 3G network completely on March 1.
Right thats why I said maybe they switched it to LTE automatically. Without having to do it manually
Can I uninstall the 15.5 update? Off WiFi lte is useless. T mobile didn’t do it, update 15.5 did.

T-Mobile's 3G network will cease to exist in 6 weeks.... If it's that big a problem for you now, you need to be looking for a new carrier...

This is a lie i was on the phone with t-mobile yesterday and they told me that i would be able to connect to 4g if my phone gave me the option to choose it.
I find it hard - no, impossible to believe AT&T changed their data setup at the exact same time Apple rolled out a new version of iOS

Did T-Mobile also tell you that they were shutting down their 3G (which they call 4G) at the end of June? The lie is by T-Mobile.
I have T-Mobile and the same issue has happened to me. Are the carriers working in tandem to remove this option? I doubt it. Apple did this.
