Getting a GIFT CARD instead of Trade In credit?

Hi everyone. So, I'm not sure if this is just a nuance of wording used on Apple's site but I bought (online) an iPhone 13 Pro Max; paid in full via AppleCard. Came out to around $1400 with tax and AC+.

I traded in my iPhone 12 Pro Max valued at $790. My device was pristine and I wasn't worried about getting the full amount. Shipped it back via their return kit.

Now, I see I'm getting a Gift Card and not a credit. On the orders page, I see,

Is this just how they word things? Because on the trade in part of Apple.com, it clearly says credit towards purchase,

I am not panicking. I'm fortunate to be able to handle a purchase that size (not flexing, sincere apologies if that's how it's coming across) but I wanted everyone to know this might happen and get feedback from those in the community who may know better.

Hello shacker2762,

It sounds like you have some questions about the Apple trade-in program. We will be happy to assist you.

When you set up the trade-in, was it done through the program? Apple Trade In

If so, let's get you in touch with Apple support for help: Contacting Apple

Cheers!
