Overscan adjustment not available in preferences

My macbook air is not showing in full screen, but slightly larger, so I need to scroll up and down, left and right a little bit to see the whole screen. I googled it - found settings to adjust underscan and overscan, but that little lever is not available in preferences on my macbook - how do I restore my view to full screen

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13
