CarPlay not working after iOS15 upgrade

Since upgrading to iOS15, my Carplay freezes Sirus XM. Unplug the phone, Sirus works fine. Plug back up for Carplay to load, it freezes again. Obvious this is a Carplay issue as I've seen other reporting music apps having a similar problem but not Sirus specifically so thought I'd put this out there.

replicate issue:

When Carplay starts to load in the infotainment system, it freezes my entire infotainment system. no sounds. no changes. just locked tight. unplug the phone, everything works fine. plug phone back into the USB, Carplay starts up and freezes system again.

just completed a 1k road trip and talk about being an annoying thing to deal with.... geez...

Does anyone know of a workaround?

Vehicle: Acura 2021 RDX

IOS 15.0.1 updated 10/5/21 - no help.

iPhone 11 Pro

We understand that since upgrading your iPhone, CarPlay is having some issues with Sirus XM freezing when loading CarPlay. We would recommend taking a look at the following support article for some things to check to troubleshoot CarPlay. Since this is occurring after an iOS update, checking with your car manufacturer for any firmware updates would be a good idea.

If you have tried the troubleshooting in that support article and you still have issues connecting to CarPlay, we would recommend that you, contact Apple Support as provided in that article. They will be able to help you with your specific issues in a real time basis.

Thank you. however, none of that was of help. This issue is not just related to iOS15 as you can find many references in the support forums to similar issues on previous versions as well. This issue for me got worse with iOS15. There also issues with applications other than Sirus not working. ie. Spotify, iHeart, etc...

My manufacture, Acura, advised this is an Apple issue. I have friends with other manufactures that are having the same issue as well. This is not manufacture-specific. Everything points back to Apple.
