I am trying to download pictures from my iPhone (which are backed up on iCloud) to my Photos app on my mac. I am unable to get them to transfer, even after following advice from website. Could you please help guide me through?

Open photos app. In the menu go to photos>preferences and make sure the general tab is showing. (See the screenshots, top left there are two buttons - one a switch, one a cloud. Click the switch)

See the first screenshot above. Is the circled button greyed out? (It should be). If it is not, click it and it will become greyed out (Now your lirbrary is set as your system library)

Now go to the iCloud tab - is it set as shown in the second screenshot. If not set it up that way.

Finally make sure you have enough free space both on your mac and in iCloud to hold all the photos in your library.

First check that the library is set as the system library (the circled button should be greyed out. (Photos preferences)

Then check icloud settings are as shown.

Also make sure you have enough iCloud space for your whole library, and lots of free space on your mac and phone.

I am having a similar problem. My photos on my iPhone transfer to iCloud, but not to my Photos folder on my Mac. They used to, then stopped. The directions given do not help. an you please explain step-by-step, so that it's clearer.

Tried these fixes a million time and they don't work for me. Everything syncs EXCEPT Photos. There must be a bug in the Photos App software.
