iPad 7th Gen Back Camera Issues

Hey all. So my kiddo was gifted an iPad 7th gen a while back and the camera is screwing up. I've done all the resets down to a factory reset, so at this point I'm just looking to verify that it's a hardware issue. Despite the device being surrounded by essentially 2 inches of foam, she's 7 and not the most graceful.

The front camera works perfectly fine. Back camera is mostly black aside from the right ~20% and what does show up is purple, warped, and is a triple image (see provided pic, though it looks rotated). The green camera indicator also does a slow blink and the screen goes completely dark, indicating that the camera is turning on and off.

I've tried everything. Checking permissions, resets, force closing, the works. Any insights?
