Hey Siri- tell me where you are!

Doesn’t matter what version iPhone you have, Apple has fumbled or totally failed users when it comes to certain simple, common-sense UI features. One I seek often is, “Hey Siri- tell me where you are!”

We still use the old work-around, like “Hey play me a song,” the same tips from older posts on discussions.apple (from 3 to 13 years ago). However, as glitchy as Siri is, even if your settings are set as permissive, half the time you ask lost iPhone’s Siri to play a song, the phone freezes and gets confused as it’s thinking Face Recognition is required.

Well, if I was able to use my face, I wouldn’t be asking to play in the first place NOW WOULD

Siri doesn’t even ‘recognize’ the question, playing as if nothing’s heard. Nothing at all like the smart, responsive bot it was imagined to be.

Any other work-arounds folks?

What’s bugging me most is: WHY has Apple not grown a pair and give the ppl what they want?!?

The whole Siri design is WAY annoying and so overprotective it’s become totally not useful in many ways and manners. How do you really get the attention of developers with Apple?

The whole thing, adding in other tiny-yet-in efficient “security designs”, makes me think that Apple has serious self-esteem issues. Like the company isn’t confident in the accuracy of detecting your voice vs. a random perp.? Why not just use behavior patterns and audio to allow users to do BASIC things without jumping thru hoops?

thanks I’m advanced for all responses !
