While iTunes/Apple Music desktop libraries can be arbitrarily large, I understand that you can only have 100,000 tracks in your iCloud library (from Match, Uploaded or Apple Music) although purchased tracks don't count against that limit. I've been trying to keep mine below that limit with varied levels of success (currently at 99,465 after I removed a stack of audiobooks and comedy albums that really didn't need to be indexed.)
I really wish that Apple had chosen a different name for their Music player. It's descriptive and all, but trying to differentiate the app from the online service is a pain in the neck. At least AppleTV+ gets that plus sign...

In 2012, a guy on this forum claimed 450,000:

Of course, anyone who subscribes to Apple Music or Spotify can claim they have a library of over 70 million tracks. :-)
I've seen complaints that Apple Music tops out at 100,000 tracks so I don't think you're in line for king of the hill.
