Face ID not working for app store

Iphone 13 running ios 15.0.1. Face ID is not working in the app store and I have to manually enter my password. I also do not get the "double click" option, but rather, there is an "install button" that I must select. I've toggled app store on and off in the face id section in settings. I've restarted the phone. I've reset the accessibility features for the double click. Still won't work in app store. Face ID appears to be working everywhere else.

This fixed it for me. I went into: settings >

click your name on the top > media and

purchases > password settings. Turned on

that Free Apps require my password and now

I get the face id prompt again. 😎👍

If you go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode, is Use Face ID For selected for iTunes & App Store?

Use Face ID on your iPhone or iPad Pro

I’m not sure what your response has to do with my question. I must enter my password every time I download an app because Face ID does not engage. Thanks

I’m having this issue as well on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I don’t know if this related to iOS 15 only.
