nno tabs button safari

Hi everyone. I need help. Upgraded my ipad to IOS 15.0.1 and now i’ve got random new tab groups (worked that out after a web search) in safari but can’t work out how to delete them or switch between them. On my ipad i don’t seem to have the ‘tabs’ button (overlapping squares) that this seems to hinge on.

What I see in image below. Tapping/swiping doesn’t seem to do anything but navigate the page.thanks in advance !

The tabs button is still there - as illustrated by your screenshot. The icon has been restyled - and is now four adjacent squares instead of the two overlapping squares; the icon is still at the upper-right corner of the Safari Window.

thanks @LotusPilot, that seems to help organise tabs, but not tab groups? I can close tab groups through the usual swipe everything closed process, but this then means that when I reopen safari, it has saved one tab group (seems to be the last one opened) and all the other tab groups are gone along with the tabs they had organised within them.

do you have any other advice to manage tab groups? I don’t want to have to keep a tab group and safari open forever, but this seems to be the only way to not have to go back through history to find what i had opened.
