The battery in a brand new AirTag should last more than a few weeks. Take it to your closest Apple Store and let them either fix or replace it.
AirTag uses CR2032 mercury cell. As Apple mentioned it should last about a year, not few weeks. You should contact Apple Support and they might help you.
