Adonit Pixel not working on iPad Mini 4
Hi there,
I purchased an Adonit Pixel towards the beginning of the year and it worked perfectly fine with a few hiccups here and there, but now it is not working at all on my iPad Mini 4. Specifically, it won’t seem to react until I interact with the screen with it for a few seconds, pen pressure almost never works when the pen decides to work, and when the pen pressure works it is for maybe two seconds at a time and seems to have no rhyme or reason to it.
It seems to function as a standard stylus just fine on my phone (samsung s10), but won’t even do that on my iPad. I am wondering if there is any other basic troubleshooting that is recommended.
Here is what I have done:
- Fully let the battery recharge. This has worked in the past for sorting out any issues with pressure sensitivity.
- Restarted my iPad.
- Disconnected my bluetooth
- Unpaired all other bluetooth items—interestingly, I’ve not seen the pen as a bluetooth item on the list. I don’t recall if this is normal.
- Disconnected bluetooth, then restarted iPad.
- Changed pen tips
- Restarted my drawing app (Procreate)
- Tried another drawing app (Medibang)
- Updated my iPad to iOS 15 (was previously on 14.6)
I was initially going to contact Adonit in regards to this but I feel like they would say they wouldn’t be able to help because it didn’t seem to be specifically a pen issue but rather an issue with my iPad.
Of note is that I did get my screen replaced on my iPad but I actually first got the pen after I did this and it worked just fine.
Again, if anyone has any troubleshooting recommendations I would appreciate it.
