When will Messages on Mac have the ability to "select" messages to delete multiple messages at one time? iPhones have this option and it seems like the Mac should be an easy update with very little programming. Even if it's Command + click the message it would be simpler than the two step delete function currently available.
We are fellow users and have no knowledge of future Apple macOS design features. The macOS product team does not participate in these public communities either.
The iOS and macOS operating systems use different software development kits (SDK) in order to create applications targeted to the usability and features of the operating system. Non-contiguous selection is one of those features in iOS that is not in macOS for Apple applications.

True, but we cannot answer when questions if Apple has not publicly shared that information, if the answer is in Apple beta products, or based on rumor.
