After updating to MacOS 11.6, the auto quit feature stopped working for printers on the iMac. Right clicking on the printer icon in the dock allows quitting the application but does not offer the auto quit option. Is there a setting, perhaps in terminal, that will restore this feature?

Noticed similar on Big Sur 11.6 with M1 Mac Mini and M1 MBA doing a AirPrint to Epson ET 2750 so not third party software playing up here. Just click the Printer Icon in Dock to open, close and presto - disappears.
One of the bugs with 11.6 among others.
Yep, same "problem" here. But considering problems others have I consider myself lucky.
In my opinion, this is a bug in the latest OS
