iPhone sync with iTunes, waiting for items to copy

I recently bought a new laptop (Windows) and have just downloaded iTunes added the music which is stored on external drive and have then been trying to sync my iPhone 12. Everything seems to work ok until towards the end of the process where I just see a message “waiting for items to copy”. I left it connect to my PC overnight but the message was still there in the morning.

I have tried restarting both my iPhone and my PC but it doesn’t make any difference. In Music on my iPhone I can see the names of all the songs I wanted copied over but the files obviously ha ent copied across because I can’t play any of them that I have selected.

there is probably c50GB of music to be copied across, how long should this take. I have never had issues like this previously.

thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

Hey TangerinDream,

It appears that you're trying to sync content to your iPhone 12, but you see "Waiting for items to copy" and it doesn't go away, even letting your iPhone stay connected overnight. Does this happen in a new user on your Windows computer? That can show if it happens with any user on your computer or if its specifically happening in your main user.

Is this happening with other content that can be synced to an iPhone? We want to know if its happening with all content or only music.

Take care.
