Shared calendars on iPad

What’s the difference between “Shared BY …” and “Shared WITH …’ when trying to share calendars between my husband and myself?

Now I have duplicate calendars on both iPads. Calendar appointments/items display on my husband’s calendar, BUT each appointment/item displays TWICE on my calendar, which drives me crazy because it takes up way too much space on my monthly view.

I’ve tried to share using “shared WITH” and “shared BY” and either my or my husband’s calendar item disappeared.

I’m going insane trying to synchronize calendars!

"Shared by" indicates a calendar that is being shared with you (it will display the name of the person sharing).

"Shared with" are your calendars that you are sharing with others.

Thanks! So … if my husband and I need to share the same calendar on our iPads, what’s the best way to set up his calendar? Share by? Share with? Same question about my calendar. Many thanks! This has been driving me crazy for days.

Share by and share with aren’t options you choose; just a label that helps you know the owner and those with whom you are sharing.

each of you should just be able to add the other to share calendars (the instructions provided above).
