Lost Recovery Key and password on 2009 iMac

Do I have to trash my 2009 iMac because I lost password and Recovery Key? I have other Apple computers but like this one because it has built in disc player. I like it to view and cull photos.

It is also compatible with 32 bit applications.

I'm not sure what you mean by Reovery Key.
