Now Playing jump-back button kills Audible, launches Music

This started today, after updating to iOS 15 (and, subsequently, to Watch OS 8 and the latest version of Audible): while using the Watch to control playback of the Audible app on my phone, I noticed that jumping back (a 60-second rewind) in Now Playing immediately kicks me out of Audible and launches the last played album in Music. Sometimes just pausing playback for Audible will launch Music upon restarting. At first I thought it was an issue with the Watch (Series 5), but the same thing happens on the phone (XS) and only when Now Playing is controlling playback, never from within the Audible app itself, so I don’t think it’s an Audible problem, and I also think the Watch is simply mirroring what the phone is doing.

This is beyond frustrating, as I use the jump-back button frequently to catch bits I’ve missed, and to have to pick up the phone and restart Audible every time I jump back or pause is ridiculous. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling Audible, restarting the phone and the watch, turning off access to Apple Music in the Audible app, and nothing so far has helped. Anyone else have this problem? Help?
