Can't see iMessage simultaneously on iPhone and Mac after I got a new Mac

How to I see iMessages simultaneously on iPhone 11 Pro Max and new MacBook Air?

Yes, I have done this, but now I see that in the iMessage preferences box where I've enables message in iCloud, the "You can be reached for messages at:" is greyed out and incorrect. I don't see how to change it to my cell phone number and preferred email ID.
