Problem with Messages app in iOS 14.8 on iPhone 12 mini

My wife just started having this problem Sunday 10/10:

Her screen in Messages app is divided with a small amount of text on top and a large blank space below the text. I'll attach a screenshot she sent me.

(Her sister is having the same problem on her iPad.)

Messages not displayed I have an iPad mini 4 running iOS 15.5. When I click on the messages icon to open and view my iMessages and text messages the app opens with a blank display and no messages shown. If I press the home button sometimes they become visible temporarily but when I click to go back in to messages the screen goes back to the empty frame again. Sometimes Messages just crashes 20 seconds after I launch it. Works fine on my iPhone. Any ideas?

iPhone Messages App is freezing while typing a message It is a time lag as the text shows up a few seconds (or many more) later. Similarly, if I delete text, the text gets deleted after a time lag. If I keep pressing keys out of frustration, it takes longer as now the poor app has more processing to do. Rebooting my iPhone sometimes helps temporarily. A lack of storage is not causing the problem; I have over 50 GB available in iCloud storage and over 150 GB available on my iPhone.

Can't open message in 13 mini I got my 13 mini 2 weeks ago and everything was fine till tonight while I was having conversation with my friend via imessage and then suddenly , the message screen has stopped and not responding. I cleared the background apps and try again but didn't work. When I open message , it just shows black blank and just went back to home screen automatically. I tried restart , turn off/on imessage and even updated to iOS 15.3 but nothing worked. Please help me

I'll recommend your solution to her.

I'm also using iOS 14.8 and haven't had any problems like this on my iPhone 12 mini.

She is about 160 milers away right now, so I'll wait until she is home Tuesday evening to update her iOS to 15.0.1.
