Mac doesn't detect my firewire device

PC∶ Macbook Air with M1

Firewire device: Canopus 110

Actually it worked fine until today I connect it as usual.

I use a Firewire 400 to 800 cable, a FW 800 to thunderbolt2 adapter and a thunderbolt2 to 3 adapter.

I checked system report and it shows 'Warning: Unable to list the device'.

The solution to this problem(like reset SMC) doesn't seem to work on M1 MBA.

I'm not sure whether my cable or Firewire device is fine, but they worked yesterday.

I need help!! Thank you in advance.

There may be insufficient power to connect the device.

Use a https://www.smklink.com/products/usb-c-multi-port-hub or https://www.siig.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=JU-DK0F11-S1 to connect your adapter for making Firewire to the second USB-C port on the hub, and power the hub from the computer's power cord. Any hub with 100W PD passthrough USB-C port should work. But these have been tested by the team I worked with 600 other Macs.

Another alternative is to move the Canopus components into a case that supports both Firewire 400 and 800. You may just not have enough power to carry across so many adapters. They aren't easy to find, but Newertech made a fair number of different options. Or discuss with Canopus if they will help you upgrade to a newer device supporting the newer ports.
