Aux cable with iPhone 13 pro max

Please see the steps below from: How to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your car 

1. "Restart your device and your car.
2. Make sure that your device is unlocked and on the Home screen.
3. If possible, try to connect using another cable or USB port. Check the manual that came with your car to learn how to connect an Apple device.
4. Check your charging port for any debris or damage. Make sure that your charging cable is properly inserted into the port.
5. Update your device.
6. Make sure that your stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.
7. Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support."

It’s gotta be the update my iPhone 12 won’t work either but my wife has the 11 pro max and she didn’t do the update and it works. Does it have to do with a drive safe updates to the phone? My wife is lucky I should not have done the update my phone was just fine

I’m also having the same issue. I read the mentioned instructions but it does not fix the issue. It recognizes older devices but not the IPhone 13. The iPhone 13 is not recognized at all or even shows it’s charging.

I’m very excited for the new phone, but very disappointed this feature of playing music in my car is not working.

Please help further guidance to address this issue.

iPhone won’t work on aux since new update. The Google bar being at the bottom of the screen is not a good touch. So disappointed about not being able to listen to music in my car it’s making me want to switch back to Samsung. Please fix this soon.

i’ve had the same issue since the new ios update, i’m starting to think it’s the update that’s causing my aux not to work. it worked perfectly fine the night before it updated and i woke up to it no longer connecting.

It’s the update! Mine was working fine until then.

The newest IOS update is doing this to all iPhones, the aux cord won’t even register that a phone is plugged in. FIX IT

So not everyone has a car that is Bluetooth so how are we supposed to play music through Aux. I’m ready to switch to a different phone. $1000 phone but it won’t do this. Seriously?

Same issue here, iPhone 12 Pro stopped working after latest update.

Phone is not recognized as music source device, but it displays connection symbol and charge the phone.

My wife's phone works just fine without lates update.

I wasn't realize how much I would miss streaming music on my car feature!

I am having the same issues. I thought I was the only one.. this sucks.. now i can't hear music or see my maps on my console.. why do they do this to loyal customers. Hopefully they fix the issues. I just updated and got a new phone.. Apple fix this asap.. or back to Samsung it is

I got the rip off lightning adapter because why would we be able to use the same thing from phone to phone?

Anyway, I can’t charge and do auxiliary because it doesn’t allow a double dongle to work. So your music runs your battery down and then you have to change it to another cord to charge??
