I have hard time to restore a backup by using iTunes

I back up my iPhone 6 by using iTunes on a computer. Then, I couldn’t get access to the backup I just did to restore data to my new phone through iTunes. It keep asking for password to unlock my backup. I tried all kind of password, iTunes, Apple ID, emails, etc. Even reset them few times and tried them right away. Unfortunately, none of them work. I’m now so confused about which password it was asking for. Please help me.

Hello, and welcome to Apple Support Communities Delta818,

We can see you've been using Set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and would like to use a backup from iTunes to restore your data. From what you've described, it seems like the backup is encrypted and has a password.

Here's a little information about encrypted backups: About encrypted backups on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. This might involve some memory to when you enabled this feature. Think about the passwords or phrases that might've meant something to you at that time and try those. Without the password, you wouldn't be able to use the encrypted backup.

If you're ready to move on, there is information in the section "If you can’t remember the password for your encrypted backup" that will show you how to create a new encrypted backup.

You can also use iCloud to create backups too: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iCloud. Check out this information and see if it's a good future solution for you. We're suggesting it because you can set this up to backup automatically.

We wish you good fortune as you try to recall your password!
