when i to a picture using my se20 it comes out as a video. what am i doing wrong.

Not if you turn off Live in the camera before you shoot them..
Also in settings, Camera, formats, use Most Compatible.
You have to do that before shooting photos.
Alternatively import into Photos for Mac or Photos for Windows and re-export them as jpg.
You marked it solved so hopefully this is the real solution.
The photo comes out okay, but when i forward the photo to my email or to a friend
the photo it is forward as a video instead of a photo.
While using the camera turn off Live Photos.
