Should I ship my handset for repair with or without the sim tray?
Apple say to remove accessories and the sim card when returning a handset for repair, but it doesn't say whether to put the sim tray back in before shipping

The SIM tray should absolutely remain in the iPhone.
The SIM card placement is optional. If this happened to me, I would leave it in the iPhone.
