Does anybody experience Geofencing issues.
Although Location is Always On, some geofenced apps don't update the location at all, some only when app is opened.
(for instance Honeywell and iConnectHue).
Anybody having a solution?
iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15
All, I just set up a workaround on my partners 12 Mini running 15.2:
- open the "Shortcuts" app
- press back to get to the homepage
- create a new "automation" that is triggered by arriving at required location, and make it open relevant app. Set the location size ring to be about the same size as your geofence size for whatever app youre using
-Create another automation for leaving required location, again to open the relevant app with the appropriate location ring
That will now open the app automatically (in my case Smartthings) to enable triggering of location based automation,which works because the app is foreground even if screen is off. Have just confirmed that this works outbound and inbound, have finally got her phone to trigger my heating.
Obviously this is a short term fix until Apple fix what is clearly a bug. For a long term fix I recommend Android!

It definately not a wrong location. The cause is IOS15. With older IOS it wiens fine. It stopped working after update to iOS 15!
I have the same issue on iphone 12 pro with nest thermostat, arlo doorbell apps. Restarting doesnt solve issue.
iOS 15.2 does NOT solve the issue…
Do you have any updates? I upgraded to 15.2; nonetheless the issue isn't fixed :(
Today (15-12-2021) it works again. :-) I’ve tested it (IFTTT with Tahoma). I've IOS 5.1 at the moment.
Thx for the tip. :-) I'll check this for the coming days. I'll give a report at Dec. 18th. I leave the IFTTT app open an do not restart my iPhone (IOS 5.1) and check every day if it still works.
Yes, since IOS 15 update (now IOS15.2) my geofencing has been intermittent/broken. My app provider is unable to fix.......come on APPLE lets get on the ball..!!!!

Apple release IOS 15.2.1 today. Can anyone confirm if it fixed the Geofencing issues?

Restarting the device did not resolve the problem for me.
Although my iPhone is stationary on my desk, it seems to 'think' I'm entering and exiting my location regularly.
I just tested OrchMobiLinc on 15.3 on two different iPhones (an Xs max and an 11) and it worked on both devices on one complete round trip. That gives me hope.
It seems geofencing has been fixed. My Philips hue lights have now connected once I am in proximity of my home!
I would agree. Upon coming home this evening, my lights turned on, lock unlocked, etc. as they used to do a few months back. Hopefully this isn't a "one off" occurrence. Fingers crossed.
