Where are recent file lists & directories stored for Apple applications?

I'm trying to locate a lost Keynote presentation that Keynote says "doesn't exist" when I click on it under 'Open Recent.'

It would be helpful for me to know what directory Keynote is checking when it can't find the file, so that I can have some idea of where the file used to be stored. Is there somewhere I can find the list of recent files that Keynote has catalogued and the paths to them that Keynote searches when opening them? Thanks!

~/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.RecentApplications.sfl2


~/Library/Containers/com.apple.corerecents.recentsd/Data/Library/Recents/Recents-wal


But not very readable, ~ tilde indicates  your home folder

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...


Method 1:

  1. From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.
  2. In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.
