Is anyone else having trouble with saving bookmarks on Safari?
My Safari closes completely as soon as I hit Cmd-D. It's very frustrating. I don't run anything on this computer other than Apple installed apps.

Hello Whickwithy,
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We've reviewed your question and it looks like you’re experiencing some unexpected behavior from Safari when trying to save a bookmark. It's understandable that you'd want this resolved, so allow us to assist with that. Let’s start out by testing to see when this behavior occurs.
First, put your Mac into safe mode and test. Booting into safe mode will disable any startup and login items from automatically opening, which can help us to isolate the source of the issue further. When you do this, you’ll see some unusual behavior from the display; this is to be expected. Please follow the steps in this article: How to use safe mode on your Mac.
Next, let's see if this behavior persists in a second user account on your Mac. If you have a second account, please log into that and see how it works. If you don't have one you can use, please follow these steps to make a test account that can be deleted later: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.
Please let us know how these tests go. We're here for you. Have a fantastic day!
Yes, still broken in safe mode. The main place I notice it is trying to save a youtube link. It doesn't happen with all web pages. I have noticed it on others, I'm pretty sure but not all.
Well, I guess next week we get a whole new safari, thank goodness.
Oh, yes, I don't really use login at all and I sure don't use iCloud.
Thanks for getting back with us about this, Whickwithy. We appreciate you testing in safe mode, as that gives us information about possible causes. Were you able to test in a second user account too? This can let us know if the cause for this behavior is something on your current account or not. Let us know about that please and we'll keep investigating.
Also, as you mentioned, please do make sure to update your macOS version when ready. Thanks and take care.
I think I already explained that I don't use iCloud, hence I don't log in as such. I sure don't have two IDs and I won't be making a second one for my computer. I guess I could try "guest" if necessary.
Yes, using a guest account would be fine. Or, if you make a second account for testing purposes, it can be deleted later. The steps to do so are in our first message. The purpose of this testing is to see if there is something in your main user profile causing this behavior. It's a necessary step to rule a few things out, so we appreciate you testing that for us.
We'll be here waiting to hear back. Thanks!
We appreciate you completing that testing. Since this issue persists in both safe mode and a second user profile, we want to make sure you reach the right team for help with your device. At this point, we recommend that you contact Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: Get Support.
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities and have a wonderful day.
As I expected, Monterey's new Safari fixed this problem ... I think. At least the usual bookmarks that didn't work (Youtube) now work fine.
Yes, it does the same. Why do I bother sending in all of the reports after Safari fails?
