Cannot be done. The SSD is soldered to the logic board.


You can add an external drive for extra storage or even as a boot drive.


The current generation of NVMe USB-C drives are quite fast and usually in the neighborhood of 1000 MB/sec. You can also go Thunderbolt NVMe which depending on your wallet can achieve anywhere from 1500 to 3300 MB/sec which is close to the internal SSD speed.
