Select all the photos you want in your screen saver (use shift + mouse click for sequential photos, or cmnd + mouseclick if the photos are not sequential).
From the menu of your Photos app, select File>Export photos>Expert xx items (where xx is the number of photos you have selected). An bunch of options will be presented to you. Choose png file format and use the defaults for all of the other options and click Export.
Now choose a folder, or choose create a new folder. Click Export.
Now go to system preferences>(apple symbol top left of screen), click desktop & screen saver, click screen saver, click on the up/down arrow icon next to the Source field and select the folder that you exported your images to in 4. above.
