How do you find and remove corrupt data?

Hi, Just recently tried to update my iPad to 15.0.2 and it cant update. i always have automatic updates on, but this one would not go through. So per apples request i plugged it into the computer and attempted to update that way. once again, no luck updating, but it told me i had "corrupt data" on my ipad and it could not be synced or updated. it doesn't tell me where my corrupt data is or how to remove it - is my iPad now useless? do i need to totally wipe the iPad of all data? i will lose all my data if i do that because i cannot sync due to this "corrupt data"

What do I do? buy more iPad incase this happens again? Hope? Prayer? sync everyday in anticipation of corrupt data randomly appearing? Also this in on an Ipad 7th generation 10.2", which is not in the device list

iPad Pro 10.5-inch, Wi-Fi, Cellular

Yup,

Idris beat me to this, as well.

You should be making regular/semi-regular backups of ANY computer or computing device!

This includes desktop/laptop computers, tablet computers and smart phones.

I make backups of my computers and computing devices on a every two to three week schedule.

I have computer data backups on multiple drives and through online data storage/backup services.

So, if something happens with my computers/tablets and smart phones, at least I have some sort of “recent” backup to fall back on.

You need to start doing regular/semi-regular backups of ALL your computing devices.

No Joke!

There is no way to know where this corrupt data lies.

Sorry.

AND, it is ALWAYS prudent to make backups of your iPad on a regular/semi-regular basis to guard against such data corruption and anything else that can cause something bad to happen to your iPad.

Everything we imperfect humans think of, design and make is always imperfect and flawed.

So, you have to be diligent with personal computers and computing devices to protect your important data you store on these devices.

As it is, if no backups, you will need to completely erase and reset this iPad to a factory-like state, to fix this corrupt data issue and you will ended up losing all of your data forever.

At this point, really no other choice.

Sorry & Good Luck to You!
