iOS Mail different swipes for different accounts

I've been using Spark for quite a while now and was very happy with it (Still am, really). With the new privacy options available in Mail in iOS 15, I figured I'd switch back to Mail and see if I can live with it.

It is ok, but it is missing a few options Id' like. No deal breakers as of yet with one exception: different accounts have different swipe actions even though I've set the actions in the Settings for Mail.

My Gmail accounts give me Delete on a swipe right while my iCloud and Fastmail accounts give me Archive for the same swipe. Please see the attached screenshots. This makes zero sense to me. Why would the behavior be different based on the account? Help?

Google default action is to Archive emails, not to delete. If you want to change this go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Google] > Account > Advanced, and change 'Move Discarded Messages Into' from 'Archive Mailbox' to 'Deleted Mailbox'.

Don't forget to tap back '<Account' button in upper left, then 'Done' in upper right to save the changes made to the account.

EDIT: Just read it again that your iCloud account has Archive, not Delete. That means you or whomever help you setup the account change it for you.

To change this for iCloud, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > iCloud > iCloud, scroll right to the bottom of the screen, tap Mail > Advanced and do the change from Archive to Delete.
