Alien device connecting via bluetooth to my MacBook Pro

I have an unidentified bluetooth device that keeps connecting to my Macbook Pro. I don't know if that means that someone is finding their way into my Macbook Pro or the reverse. When I turn off the connection to that device, the device eventually disappears. It then reappears another day. There does not seem to be a way to block it. What does this mean?
