deleted work
I was writing up an assignment in pages and accidently deleted part of it. Is there a way like google docs to retrieve my work?

If the file is still open Edit -> Undo might help.
Did you save the file in question? Try the menu File -> Revert To -> Browse all versions. If this does not help go to Finder and use TimeMachine to find a backed-up version of the file that contains the missing text. If none there you are out of luck unless you remember maybe having sent the file to someone for review who could return it or you stored a copy somewhere else. Maybe you created a PDF that still contains the text you are missing. You can then at least try to copy the text and paste it back into your document.
If all else fails you at least have learned a valuable lesson: Backup, Backup, Backup, Keep a copy, Backup, Keep a copy........
